WW Magazine July/August 2007 Edition

It's finally here .... my success file on page 84 of the July/August 2007 edition. I was so excited when I found out my story was going to be published in an upcoming edition. I got a call from WW the day after I reached LTM in March to say they wanted to feature me in the mag, to finally see it made me so happy I nearly cried today in the shop when I bought it and opened up to the page. I hope that other people find my story as inspiring as I've found the stories of other successful slimmers during the course of my journey to help motivate me to my goal weight.

I'm Now A Weight Watchers Lifetime Member!

When I started this journey in April 2005 I weighed 130.5kg. I had recently been diagnosed with PCOS with insulin resistance as well as suffering from high blood pressure and cholesterol. I was 36 years old and needed to have a good hard look at my lifestyle if I ever wanted the chance to have children and not head down the path to diabetes and heart disease. My doctor had put me on medication for PCOS/insulin resistance and wanted to refer me to a dietician but I decided to go back to Weight Watchers, this time on the At Home program.

After 21 months of hard work I finally reached my WW goal in January 2007. I’d lost 56.5kg, my insulin resistance is gone and I’m no longer taking medication. My blood pressure and cholesterol are extremely healthy now and we hope to be able to start a family soon as my doctor says there is nothing standing in our way now! I owe all of this to everything I’ve learned and done on this journey with WW as none of it would have been possible before losing weight.

So as of the 1st of March 2007 I’m a WW Life Time Member and have lost 58.2kg. I’m the fittest, healthiest and happiest I’ve ever been. I’ve gone from wearing a size 24-26 to a 10-12 and have rekindled my passion for clothes shopping! What used to be an effort to make the right choices in food now comes naturally and I automatically seek out the best option. My previous habits included way too much takeaway food and too large portions, I used to hate exercise and now love it. When I miss a day of exercise I actually do miss it (which is quite a surprise to me!). I’ve started running for the first time in my life and do regular cycling on both the exercise bike and pushbike. I still hope to lose 2-3kg more but whatever happens I’m now in my healthy weight range and will never go back to my old habits and “big girl” days again.

On the big weigh in day I went to a WW meeting in the City during lunch time and while I was out the girls at work decorated my desk with streamers, ballons and lovely flowers to congratulate me.

So this is the new me, officially a Lifetime Member and I'm holding my key to show everyone amongst all my celebratory desk decorations (though the key's so tiny you'll have to really look hard!).
